I am a nerd after all...

I never imagined I was this nerdy. I like to think of myself as a bit of a geek, but not a nerd. The jargon file defines a geek as “a person who has chosen concentration rather than conformity; one who pursues skill (especially technical skill) and imagination, not mainstream social acceptance.”

Whereas geeks are interested in skill and imagination, nerds tend to be interested in science and knowledge (which I am, after all). So I suppose I’m both. Then why have I always thought of myself as a bit of a jock? Badminton and Tai chi are real sports, aren’t they?…
